Bhakti Fest 2017: DTO + Hemalayaa Deliver Three Turn It Up! Transformational Yoga Movement Experiences to Music-Loving Yogis
Dave Kemp aka DTO of Buddha Music Group, along with transformational facilitator Hemalayaa, are bringing their unique fusion of electro-rock acoustic music and soul-shifting exercises to Bhakti Fest with three Turn It Up! Workshops on Sep. 7 at 2 p.m., Sep. 8 at 4 p.m. and Sep. 9 at 5 p.m.
DTO (DTOmusic.com) is leading the way in the yoga music genre with live music performances during classes, workshops and events where he brings his full 88-key digital keyboard, a harmonium and his own sophisticated electronic sound system upon which he bumps his 2016 release, Nameless Energy. Recommended by Deepak Chopra himself, Nameless Energy is the first album to follow the cyclical arc of a 60-minute yoga sequence.
“We are excited to bring live yoga music and Hemalayaa’s transformational yoga class to Bhakti Fest, so we can be a powerful channel for positive change and vibrations,” says DTO. “Truly, listening to music live while doing yoga creates a deeper spiritual connection, inspiration, and creativity,” he adds.
DTO’s Nameless Energy album is a mindful tour of a diverse sound that features acoustic instruments, electronic sounds, mantra, and devotional vocals from artists like Krista Richards, Kiyoshi and Aja Lee. In fact, DTO and his vibration-raising Nameless Energy album have even received support and airplay from national news outlets FOX and CBS.
This yoga minstrel-meets-DJ took his Nameless Energy album on a summer tour traveling to diverse locales ranging from yoga studios to transformational festivals to public parks to luxury hotels in Miami, Las Vegas, Portland and his hometown of San Diego along with performances at Lightning in a Bottle and Shakti Fest.
Five years ago, DTO transformed his health and life through healthy eating and yoga. He says this transformation led him “to begin producing music for inspirational and uplifting experiences.”
Now an avid yogi, DTO is also co-founder of Plant Powered Kids (an organization dedicated to spreading healthy eating). Ten percent of all Nameless Energy proceeds benefit Plant Powered Kids.
“My first experience in a yoga-plus-live music experience was so profound that it awakened me to my life’s purpose and I want this blissful feeling for everyone,” says DTO, who wears his guitar on his back on a custom-made vinyl holster and hemp strap.
Today, DTO is positioned at the forefront of the live yoga music explosion.
