1. Tell me about your personal journey with yoga. Why is it important to you?
Yoga has been my healthiest lifelong companion. I originally started going to yoga classes in 1980 in Houston, TX when most people thought it was a cult or worse. All I knew was my back pain was gone when I consistently practiced yoga. The profound aspects of the practice came over time. I do not practice yoga poses, I live yoga – all eight limbs. During a mid-life transition where I rediscovered and redefined my life I took a life-transforming Yoga Road Trip where I interviewed over a hundred yoga teachers who shared with me how yoga has given them a life of pure potential. Ten years in the making, my book, “Yoga Wisdom: Warrior Tales Inspiring You On And Off Your Mat” is available now. I’m in awe of the beauty of collaborating on the book. It’s a collection of powerful and inspiring stories that show you how you, too, can be a yogi.
2. When did you first begin teaching yoga? What made you transition into a leadership position?
I started teaching over 10 years ago. I have since created a yoga blog and shifted to yoga educator my becoming a published author of a yoga book, “Yoga Wisdom: Warrior Tales Inspiring You On And Off Your Mat”.
3. What makes your classes unique?
I am committed to helping ignite the desire for others to create a life of health and joy for themselves through a sustainable practice of yoga for a lifetime of transformation and the energy created in the classes is sustainable throughout the rest of your life. It’s not a yoga class, but a life shift.
4. How does music benefit your guidance in a yoga class?
It inspires me to be my unique self. I have led classes in Opera, simply because I was feeling inspired by it. Never worried if the music is going to resonate with a student, because that feels limiting, I select music based on what emotions and feelings I want to evoke for the students in the class.
5. Tell me about your next event and where we can follow you online.
