5 Question Interview @HelloYogaGirl
1.) Tell me about your personal journey with yoga. Why is it important to you?
Personally, I have found yoga to be very beneficial to myself. Whether I practice yoga for relaxation, a clear mind, or a recharge, I find it to always be the answer. I began practicing yoga while studying for my MBA in Rochester, NY. I turned to yoga to better my body but soon learned that my trinity was being healed. My body became more durable, my mind turned calm and clear, and my soul was open to more possibilities of life. Yoga is important to me as it helps me achieve balance and openness in my life.
2.) When did you first begin teaching yoga? What made you transition into a leadership position?
Soaking up all these benefits from my yoga practice, I wanted to share this with others. I deepened my practice and dedicated myself to a full-time yoga teacher training in Sydney, Australia. Once moving back to the States, I knew I wanted to keep my practice outside so I then began my journey teaching hiking and yoga classes called Hikyoga™.
3.) What makes your classes unique?
Taking my classes outside to the trails creates a whole new experience for the yogi. Hikyoga™being in nature provides grounding and calming properties opening our minds to new sounds and views that we wouldn’t see indoors. We have ditched the mat as we ground ourselves right into the earth. Different terrains do the body, mind and soul well as we adapt to what nature has to offer. The yoga class is divided into parts allowing us to stop, drop and yoga long the way where the trails permit. Various yoga sequences are taught throughout the hike allowing us to stay on our toes and practice yoga in motion.
4.) How does music benefit your guidance in a yoga class?
5.) Tell me about your next event and where we can follow you online.
