5 Question Interview @ChaseNDreamz93
1.) Tell me about your personal journey with yoga. Why is it important to you?
I began practicing yoga when I was 17 years old, I’m 22 now. My sister invited me to a hot yoga class in San Diego . My first class included a free week trial and in that week my perception of yoga completely changed . But being so young and still in high school affording memberships at local studios was a struggle . So I would hop around different studios in San Diego looking free intro offers . Eventually I ran out of studios so I would return again to the previous studios that I already had been too and would use a new alias in order to get the intro offer again . This to me at the time was clever but later became aware that this was not the most honest thing to do . And the more I practiced the more this fact became evident to me . Yoga has a way of making us aware of things that don’t feel right .
2.) When did you first begin teaching yoga? What made you transition into a leadership position?
I started teaching yoga in October 2015.
I decided to start teaching yoga because I was tired of working jobs that were unfulfilling for me. What made me Transition Into a leadership position was the desire to lead people to a place where they feel comfortable to explore them selves. That is what yoga is all about: exploring who you are on or off the mat.
3.) What makes your classes unique?
Some unique things in my class include the music I play which ranges from hip-hop to electronic, from classic rock to indie. I’ll even play some tracks I produced myself.
4.) How does music benefit your guidance in a yoga class?
Music is crucial and beneficial in my yoga class because it sets the tone of the class. From the beginning to the end. It all flows with the style I teach and the pace of my class.
5.) Tell me about your next event and where we can follow you online.
My next event is going to be at Hapa Yoga studio in Eastlake. I’ll be leading an advanced levels workshop. You can find me online on Instagram.com/chasendreamz93 or Facebook.
