Tell me about your personal journey with yoga. Why is it important to you?
Yoga found me in 2009. I was in the midst of a very challenging time in my life, I was experiencing chronic autoimmune symptoms from my thyroid condition and I had found myself in a job and relationship where I didn’t feel heard, understood or able to express my true voice. Coming to my yoga mat as I snuck out from the florescent lights on lunch breaks was the first time I felt nurtured and alive in years. It was the missing piece to all the struggles I was feeling in my body. I began noticing patterns of how I ate and treated myself and how I felt on my yoga mat, and getting really excited about what this all meant. I began to take the first steps of being my own healer, instead of relying on test results and no clear direction. This was a whole new world to me, and as I began to feel better, I began to see that what I was putting in my body – and how I was treating it – was making a huge difference on how I felt.
Each time I returned to my yoga mat, I not only felt clear-headed, but also safe, comforted and loved — feelings I had been lacking in my life — and I realized that this practice allowed me to connect with myself in a way that I hadn’t been able to elsewhere.
A very particular teacher took me under her wing, and she was living the life I wanted to see for myself, too. She was health and life coaching, helping people and living a life aligned with how she wanted to live. This captivated me and I wanted to embody this as well.
When did you first begin teaching yoga? What made you transition into a leadership position?
I began teaching back in 2011 and have since made it my career to empower women to tap into their own inner healer and live their most vibrant life, too. I left my job in finance a few years ago and never looked back!
I moved from NYC to LA in October 2015, and it was the first time i felt home, feminine and alive in years. I was on the beach in Malibu the prior spring and my soul spoke to me — “Come home. Everything you’ve ever wanted will be right here for you.”
So here I am. I finally feel good again, and I love my life.
I started tapping into my intuitive power and fearlessly going after what I wanted when I deepened my practice, when I began to look inside, and I began to finally notice huge shifts in my life. Yoga has been the catalyst for my growth and as I have been experimenting with so many different healing modalities, I’ve learned how to finally feel good in my body again. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients over the past six years and have been shocked and how fast these practices really work – and how doctors often completely overlook these potent tools!
We are constantly told we are broken, or something is missing, or we need drugs.
We are constantly looking outside ourselves for answers. The answers are all inside. This fascinated me and I love learning how we can self-heal.
I have cross-pollinated ancient yogic wisdom and healing practices to create something refreshingly new, yet refined with rich substance and deep history. This is precisely why I created Thyroid.Yoga™ about 4 years ago, a method designed to empower men and women to say goodbye to survival mode and embody radiant health again.
In other words, in Thyroid.Yoga™, we discover how to unveil all the rubbish and stories holding us back – and release it. It’s like nothing out there.
Tell us about Thyroid Yoga and the speciality treatments you offer?
What makes my work unique is that I bring together the strongest possible offering for the physical, emotional and cultural health of my students and community.
I’ve been able to curate a program that works for everything, through combining the best of the best knowledge from the most renowned teachers, healers and experts. This is the game-changer – and it just launched on MindBodyGreen!

What makes your classes unique?
My students tell me that my voice is so soothing and nurturing that even though we will be moving through a challenging sequence, they’ll feel safe, liberated and inspired.
In just 90 minutes or so, you will sweat, sing, dance, cry, move freely and breathe deeply – and I will give you a luxurious savasana with healing, intuitive touch. I create a sensational experience – my classes and retreats are designed to tap you into your own inner healer and to find your way back home again. I use aphrodisiac essential oils that I create myself (ajaialchemy.com) and read poetry from Rumi, Hafiz, Mary Oliver, and often times, from my own journal. I put my whole heart into the playlists I create.
How does music benefit your guidance in a yoga class?
When we all tune into the same music, dance the same pulse, sing the same vibration, and move together, something magical happens. High vibration music raises the vibration in the room and we can all ride that sound current together. As a teacher, it is my greatest joy to collaborate with musicians who can co-create this beautiful experience.

I am thrilled to announce my Thyroid Yoga Teacher Training for Healers and Wellness Practitioners, and all those looking to heal on an accelerated timeline!
