DTO + Audrey Sarquilla, Owner of White Peacock Yoga
In anticipation of our class this Sunday, I was able to sit down with White Peacock Yoga owner Audrey Sarquilla and find out a little more information about her history with yoga.
Audrey reflected a bit on her personal journey with yoga and why sharing her love for yoga has been a blessing. I am excited to bring my healing vibrations in attunement with her teaching.
I began practicing yoga at 18 and have practice many forms of yoga through the years. My practice is my life line. It’s important to me more because its what keeps me sane in the moment, during the things that have and will come up in life – that I need to be present and connected to; not so much about something in the past or recovering from something major in the past although my practice has helped uncover + heal old wounds as well.
I began teaching yoga in 2002. I believe teaching yoga is as much as a learning experience as a leading experience. My passion for teaching yoga is to encourage, share and spread a practice that has helped support and nurture my heart and spirit.
I believe our studio has a unique vibe of inclusiveness and creating a space where yoga is for everyone. White peacock symbolizes “pure compassion” and that’s what we strive for.
At times music can allow me to go deeper into my body and out of my head to feel. When I’m not afraid to feel my mind can become calmer and that brings me closer to my yoga.
